While airlines around the world fly aircraft in special liveries, few of them are known for it as much as ANA. Without a doubt, the two Pokemon Jumbo jets that they operated between 2004 and 2013 are one of the most widely known special liveries.
There have also been other liveries including the now-repainted retro 767, and the currently operating three Star Wars Jets.
What makes some of the liveries interesting is the fact that ANA likes to involve its customers and fans in the selection process from time to time. For example, the “1999 Pokemon Jet” was based on a design by a winner of a contest.
Similarly, the Pokemon Peace Jet which was repainted back into normal livery last year was meant to be chosen by public voting. Coinciding with the tragic events of March 11, 2011, however, the voting was cancelled and ANA made an executive decision on the winning design.
Recently, ANA held a similar contest at the end of last year when proposals for a special Hawaii-themed livery for their upcoming A380s were accepted. The winning design will be announced shortly, in February.
Simultaneously, it was also accepting design suggestions for a special 2020 Olympics livery for one of its Boeing 777-200s.
Now, the top five designs for the Triple Seven have been selected by ANA, and voting is in progress to choose the basis for the actual livery.

Personally, my favorite one is the first design as it is the most colorful one and covers the whole aircraft.
