Almost a year ago, I wrote about a contest that ANA was running to pick a special livery for one of its Boeing 777-200ER aircraft to celebrate the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. While I didn’t write about it here, some time ago the winning livery was announced. And earlier today, ANA announced more details about the aircraft it officially calls the “HELLO 2020 JET.”
As per today’s announcement, the first revenue flight of the aircraft (reg. JA741A) in its new livery will take place on January 29, 2018, from Tokyo Haneda to Fukuoka. The flight, NH243, is scheduled to take-off at 8:20AM and land at 10:20AM.
From then on, the aircraft will operate domestic flights throughout Japan.
The exact date of when the aircraft will be painted back into the regular ANA livery is not known. However, it will operate in the “HELLO 2020 JET” livery at least until the end of the 2020 Tokyo Games which will take place according to the following schedule:
- 2020 Summer Olympics: July 24 – August 9
- 2020 Summer Paralympics: August 25 – September 6
Until the end of the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, the aircraft will not only wear the special livery but will also be equipped with Olympic and Paralympic-themed headrest covers. Similarly, cabin crew working on the aircraft will wear Olympic and Paralympic-themed aprons.
JA841A is an ANA Bombardier plane? Is the plane reg number correct?
Oops, thanks for noticing – fixed! It should be JA741A.
