At the end of last year, Transavia received its first Airbus A321neo from Airbus, marking the beginning of its shift from an all-Boeing to an all-Airbus fleet. Now, the Dutch company’s subsidiary owned jointly with Air France, Transavia France, received its first A320neo.

Transavia France Receives Its First A320neo
Airbus announced that on January 10, 2024, Transavia France received its first Airbus A320neo. The aircraft is registered F-GNEO and was ferried from the Airbus plant in Toulouse to Transavia France’s base, Paris Orly Airport, on the afternoon of the delivery day as flight TO320.
Rather than purchasing the jet, Transavia France has it on lease from Avalon.

As I expanded on in my article about the first Transavia A321neo delivery, this A320neo is part of an order for a total of 100 A320neo family aircraft with an option for 60 more that KLM Group placed in December 2021. These aircraft will be used to renew Transavia’s as well as KLM’s narrowbody fleet. KLM expects to receive its first A320neo mid-this year
The delivery of the A320neo also marks the beginning of Transavia France’s transition from an all-Boeing fleet to an all-Airbus one. According to Air France-KLM Group’s press release, “By the end of 2024, Transavia France expects to operate 13 Airbus A320neo aircraft, alongside its fleet of close to 70 Boeing 737-800.”
The Transavia France A320neo is in an all-economy class configuration with 186 seats in a 3-3 layout. As is becoming more and more common, each seat is equipped with a USB-C charging port.
For comparison, the airline’s 737-800s seat 189 passengers each.

Transavia France A320neo Entry into Service
Transavia France expects to put its new A320neo on a scheduled flight for the first time on January 15, 2024, with a flight from Paris Orly to Porto in Portugal. Interestingly, that is the same route that the airline started with when it launched back in 2007.
Specifically, it plans to put it on the second of the three rotations on that day, i.e. flights:
- TO7602 departing Paris Orly at 8:50AM and arriving in Porto at 10:10AM
- TO7603 departing Porto at 10:45AM and arriving at Paris Orly at 2:00PM
It is not clear what routes the aircraft will fly after that. That said, it will start appearing on more and more routes regularly once the airline receives more airframes.
At this point, the sole A321neo operated by Transavia Netherlands doesn’t seem to have any fixed schedule either, appearing on flights to various destinations, one day at a time.

Summary
On January 10, 2024, Transavia France took delivery of its first A320neo, marking the beginning of its transition from Boeing to Airbus aircraft. It expects to receive 12 more by the end of this year.
The A320neo is in an all-economy configuration and, at 186 seats, sits three less passengers than Transavia France’s 737-800s do.
In a few days, the aircraft will make its debut on a scheduled passenger route with a flight from Paris Orly to Porto.
